German Environment Minister Ms. Svenja Schulze visits Green the Map, SEED Award Winner (2016)

German Environment Minister Ms Svenja Schulze visited Green the Map, a local green initiative which manufactures upcycled products made from waste or organic materials, and provides environmental education for young people in New Delhi, India. Green the Map is also a winner of the 2016 SEED Awards.

The SEED Awards 2016 in India were supported by GIZ under the Green Economy “Enhancing low-carbon development by greening the economy in cooperation with the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE)” funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).

The SEED Awards is an annual awards scheme designed to identify the most innovative and promising locally led eco-inclusive start-ups in developing and emerging economies. Currently, the SEED Awards 2019 is open for applications. Eco-inclusive enterprises from Ghana, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Uganda, South Africa, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia are encouraged to apply. This year, the SEED Awards are funded by the International Climate Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and by the Government of Flanders.

Applications are accepted on the SEED Platform via app.seed.uno. Submissions will be accepted until 02 April 2019, 23:59 CET.
