Our Policy Advocacy work removes barriers to eco-inclusive enterprises and delivers market-based policy instruments for an inclusive, green economy. We work with leading policy-makers and practitioners to facilitate the design of instruments that targeted and customised to support eco-inclusive entrepreneurship in developing countries and emerging markets as a means to alleviate poverty and improve the environmental sustainability of economies. We employ our insights – gained over more than fifteen years working directly with enterprises and public, private and social sector stakeholders – to advocate for policies that support small growing enterprises and maximise their capacities to deliver social, environmental and economic benefits to their communities.
How does SEED advocate for collaborative policies?
We employ our insights – gained over more than fifteen years working directly with enterprises and public, private and social sector stakeholders – to advocate for policies that support small growing enterprises and maximise their capacities to deliver social, environmental and economic benefits in their communities. Our approach at SEED involves the use of collaborative and hands-on prototyping tools, context-specific insights and an emphasis on partnership building in the design of policy and other supportive instruments which enable entrepreneurial innovation for a green and socially inclusive economy.
We support policy-makers from the regional and national levels through a policy prototyping programme that seeks to improve the policy framework for eco-inclusive entrepreneurship. Our prototyping labs apply our hands-on tools, insights and collaborative facilitation approach. We also incorporate key political leaders and influencers into our SEED events as participants, speakers and workshop facilitators to cultivate open dialogue. Alongside these efforts, we have positioned ourselves strategically in core sustainable development, climate action and green economy agendas.
We are calling on all stakeholders to actively join in by participating in SEED events, lending your expertise to the policy prototyping process and learning more about how you can join us in demanding the inclusion of eco-inclusive entrepreneurship in strategic policy-making decisions.
Prototyping policy instruments for a green and inclusive economy
Policy prototyping is based on the idea that – similar to products and services offered by the private sector – policies serve the demand of certain target groups. Our SEED Policy Prototyping programme stimulates the development of targeted and customised policy instruments that contribute to an ecosystem conducive to the growth of eco-inclusive enterprises. Through the SEED Policy Prototyping process, the expertise of policy-makers and implementers is catalysed to drive forward national and sub-national green economy agendas that account for the significant contributions of small and growing enterprises to environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive markets.
