IDH The Sustainable Trade Initiative, Malawi

Daisy Kambalame-Kalima is a trained economist and business counselling expert with more than 15 years’ experience in strategic program development for sustainable development. Currently working as the Country Coordinator for the IDH The Sustainable Trade Initiative in Malawi and Mozambique. Daisy joined AICC (the African Institute of Corporate Citizenship, an African based NGO facilitating development programs through multi-stakeholder partnerships) and, as the Chief Executive Officer from 2012 to 2014, provided leadership on how to incorporate business principles when addressing development challenges. AICC created a number of platforms under the Malawi Agriculture Partnership (MAP) for value chain enhancement which included work that redefined the role of smallholders within value chains. Daisy currently serves as the Chairperson for the Malawi Forum of Agriculture Adviser Services (MaFAAS). Daisy is passionate about development working to change the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
