Malini Balakrishnan is a Senior Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi and will coordinate the SEED India Hub activities.

Malini has over twenty five years of experience in innovating as well as assessing technology solutions in different sectors of the industry. Her work focuses on evolving affordable solutions to specific challenges of inefficient resource use and waste management faced by enterprises in developing countries.  She has wide experience in business development, directing multi-institutional projects on implementing resource efficient cleaner production actions in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as development and demonstration of technologies (for industrial process improvement, recovery of resources from wastewater streams, industrial solid waste up-cycling). This experience will contribute towards a more holistic perspective on the solutions and services offered by small eco-inclusive enterprises as well as their technology support related needs.

Malini has a Doctorate in Biochemical Engineering, with Masters and Bachelors degrees in Chemical Engineering. She is a nominated expert in select programmes of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, reviewer for various funding agencies and peer-reviewed international journals.
