Akash has 7 years’ professional experience across financial services and consulting. During his career, he has worked with private, public and social sector actors across Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America. He started out as a credit analyst and then worked in a mergers and acquisitions advisory firm in Mumbai. In his previous role, he worked with a boutique consulting firm and advised a UN agency on restructuring of its financial and budgeting architecture to keep pace with the changing context of its operations.

Akash has also been involved in various strategic pro bono projects. He helped Skateistan, a sports development and education oriented NGO working with at-risk youth to improve its program design and impact assessment frameworks. He helped Tech Needs Girls, a Ghanaian social enterprise working on inclusion of women in the ICT industry to devise the scaling strategy. He also helped Ashoka Globalizer to design the pilot for one of its programs, GlobalizerX, in India. While living in Mumbai, Akash founded Sing A Smile, a project working with marginalized communities and using music and art to serve specific social objectives.

Akash holds an honours degree in Economics from University of Delhi. He also studied public policy at Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.
