Jeff Felten
Jeff Felten is a specialist in climate change, in designing and implementing business and industry development interventions, particularly in the “clean” energy sector (renewable energy and energy efficiency). He has been instrumental in introducing a variety of new technologies into different markets throughout Africa, including renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. Mr. Felten has been active in the African energy sector for nearly 20 years, primarily working with SMEs, small-scale, isolated or distributed power systems, improved stove and briquette manufacturers, with national Ministries, rural energy agencies, project developers and other key stakeholders in developing sustainable, workable clean energy policies and systems.
Jeff is well versed in climate change issues globally and is one of Tanzania’s most experienced renewable energy consultants. He has consulted on behalf of African governments, bilateral and multilateral donors, NGOs and private companies, and is a key consultant for Tanzania’s Ministry of Energy and Rural Energy Agency. He works closely with a number of Independent Power Producers and clean energy SMEs. He is skilled in strategic planning, business planning, project management, micro-finance, market assessment and marketing. He is an experienced trainer/facilitator (in both French and English) and team leader, having managed staff as large as 40 people. He has administered multi-year donor-funded projects valued in the millions of dollars.
