Aline Wachner is a PhD candidate in the Department for Strategic Organization & Finance at Zeppelin University (Germany), and holds a scholarship from Siemens Stiftung to conduct multiple case studies on health care social enterprises in Colombia, Mexico, Kenya and South Africa. Her research interests focus on strategic paradoxes in organisations seeking to serve the BOP in a financially viable way. She majored in international cultural and business studies at the University of Passau, where she received a Master’s degree. Furthermore, she has served as a consultant for corporate responsibility, social enterprise and social financing for several years and has worked at the Grameen Creative Lab, a think tank and accelerator for social businesses initiated by Muhammad Yunus.
