Tac-Maz Sustainable Ventures
Producing high quality organic foods to end food insecurity
Tac-Maz Sustainable Ventures grows vegetables and fruit and raises different breeds of livestock organically. They use renewable energy for irrigation, and produce organic fertiliser to maximise climate change adaptation impact.
The enterprise also empowers women farmers in their network to form cooperatives and provide them with technical support in sustainable horticultural production to increase productivity and environmental conservation. Products are supplied to catering companies, retail shops, restaurants and local markets.
Clean Heat Solutions produces carbonised briquettes supplied to women farmers through Tac-Maz to reduce the time and risks in sourcing charcoal or firewood for their everyday energy needs.
Catering International and Services provides a market for the enterprise’s products in the catering industry in Malawi.
The SEED Climate Adaptation Awards 2021 in Botswana, Malawi, and Zambia are sponsored by the Government of Flanders.
