The SolSource is an affordable and high-performing solar concentrator designed for the 2.5 billion people globally who rely on harmful solid fuels for their daily energy needs. One Earth Designs (OED) is a social enterprise created to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in rural Himalayan communities. The SolSource is the first product in a series of appropriate technologies, co-designed by OED and its partner communities, whose commercialisation is intended to support the activities of the organisation at large.

Eco-Inclusive Impacts
By giving a low cost alternative to harmful solid fuels, SolSource contributes in reduction of green house gas emission while empowering women and children to engage more in social and income generating activities.
  • Decreasing the time women and children spend for collecting solid fuels for basic energy needs, and allowing them to pursue schooling and income generating opportunities.
  • Reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions by offering a low-cost and high-performing solar concentrator for daily energy needs.

  • Enhancing the potential for positive economic impact by allowing women and children more time for schooling and income-generating opportunities.
