Siyabuddy empowers community members to collect waste from different sources like shopping centres, hospitals, illegal dumping sites, etc. The company trains the collectors on waste separation, pays them per kg collected and ultimately sells the collected waste to recyclers all across South Africa.

Siyabuddy also manufactures and sells plastic pavement bricks, made from recycled plastic bags, which can also be turned into other brick moulds as well as roof tiles.

Eco-Inclusive Impacts
Since it started its operative business in 2017, Siyabuddy has employed 28 youths while providing revenue opportunities for another 1033 waste collectors. It collects over 120 tonnes of waste from landfills every months to be recycled and accounts for monthly revenues of R280,000 on average.

Siyabuddy collects and resell waste to recyclers across South Africa. Furthermore it manufactures bricks from non-recyclable plastics. The company supports the community by providing direct & indirect jobs and cleaning the surroundings.

SAPPI, a global technology company, provided Siyabuddy with a baling machine and the training required to operate it.
