Rimagined
Rimagined reuses materials transforming them into bags and accessories, furnishings and home linen, and apparel. Their customers include retail buyers, corporations and enterprises working towards zero waste. They train and employ people from lower economic strata to handcraft their range of products.
They have more than 1,000 B2C end consumers and B2B bulk buyers from the Indian market and international markets, including US, UK, Australia, Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany, Sri Lanka and Japan.
- Training and employing locals (especially young women) from lower economic strata
- Mitigating urban migration by providing livelihoods in rural areas
- Creating direct employment for 22 people and indirect employment for 12, most of them with no previous job
- Repurposing materials: 15,000 pairs of jeans, 250 kg fabric, 5,000 kg wood, 1,000 kg yarn, 350kg glass as raw materials (2021)
- Avoiding about 400 tonnes of CO2 emissions by rerouting waste
- Producing an average income for employees of INR 20,000 per month
- Avoiding social cost value of $34,400,000 ($86 per ton of CO2 for India)
