Seaweedtama Biopac Indonesia sources seaweed directly from seaweed farmers’ cooperatives and processes it into the Biopac sheet without utilising any hazardous chemicals. The product has a shelf life of up to 18 months at 20-35°C making it suitable for worldwide distribution.

Their main revenue comes from product sales, serving the B2B market through direct sales to SMEs of the food, supplements, groceries, and personal care sectors, as well as distribution networks in Indonesia and abroad.

Eco-Inclusive Impacts

PT Seaweedtama Biopac contributes to reducing single-use plastics, sequestering CO2 during seaweed cultivation, and reducing anthropogenic GHG emissions that come from plastic production and disposal.

  • Sequestering CO2 during seaweed cultivation: up to 5 tonnes of CO2 (2020)

  • Securing decent income for seaweed farmers. Expected to increase order up to 23 tonnes of seaweed in 2021
  • Introducing seaweed product prototypes such as cups, bowls and straws to increase demand of seaweed in international markets
