Waste pickers and community schools collect recyclable waste from their community. They deposit their full bags of waste at L4T collection points and in exchange for each bag they receive a token. Tokens can be redeemed at the L4T kiosk and the recyclable waste and non-recyclable waste is sold to recycling plants and partners.

The token shop where tokens can be redeemed is stocked with clothes, food and household essentials, recently added is airtime and supported by donations, sponsors and fundraising initiatives. L4T centres also offer educational support for the community about the importance of recycling and protecting the environment.

Eco-inclusive Impacts
L4T offers a circular economy model and has created 300 jobs so far. L4T creates infrastructure for waste management in the country and thereby also helps South Africa become a more circular economy.
