GreenTech Solutions manufactures building materials from recycled plastic waste. GTS sources raw materials from informal pickers and community-based organisations, manufactures and distributes finished products, and does advertising and marketing for the products. Due to local plastic waste pollution, another focus of the company is awareness-rising. The enterprise targets local hardware centres, companies, and households to sell plastic tiles, ceilings, gutters, fencing poles, and driveway paving. The products are an eco-friendly alternative to commonly used iron sheets.

Eco-Inclusive Impacts
  • Conducting clean-ups and awareness campaigns, resulting in a cleaner city
  • Reducing diseases related to improper waste disposal
  • Sourcing 90kgs of plastic waste weekly since January 2019, thereby reducing the pollution of the country and waste in landfills
  • Decreasing carbon emissions created by burning of plastic waste
  • Creating jobs for 4 local waste pickers, 3 of which are women
