Greenchoice Ventures Ltd

Manufacturing organic fertiliser from organic waste in rural Malawi
2019 SEED Africa Award Sustainable Agriculture Mzuzu, Malawi

Greenchoice Ventures Ltd collects organic wastes from smallholder farmers and households for recycling via composting into high quality organic fertiliser. It then sells the nutrient-rich, eco-friendly, safe and affordable organic fertiliser back to smallholder farmers as an alternative to chemical and environmentally-harmful fertilisers which acidify soils in the long-term.

The enterprise partners with organic wastes suppliers, local NGOs, and intends to work with government field extension officers to enhance the opportunity for smallholder farmers to practice sustainable, eco-friendly agriculture.
