Eyomdali Enterprise is an eco-inclusive enterprises leading the transition to a green circular economy through its focus on sustainable agriculture. The indigineous and nutritious Momordica plant is grown in organic farms, and proccessed into cold-pressed vegetable juices for local markets.

The by-products of the juice manufacturing process are used to produce livestock feed. Along with waste from animal farms, these by-products are also composted to produce organic fertilizers for the farms. 

 

Eco-Inclusive Impacts

Improving nutrition and strengthening local ecosytsems with organic and sustainable farming practicies.
  • Vegetables are farmed and harvested using the principles of permaculture, leading to sustainable and self-sufficient agriculture. 
  • The waste and by-products from cold-pressing vegetables into juices is used for livestock feed, reducing waste and providing a balanced diet for the livestock. 
  • Waste materials from animal farms are used to produce organic fertilizers in keeping with other sustaible agriculture practices. 
  • With a focus on empowering women and youth, almost 40% of the full-time staff at Eyomdali Enterprise are women, while 5 youth are employed part-time as well.
  • The enterprise has an equal-opportunity employment policy and is developing policies to support employees with illnesses and disabilities. 
  • Eyomdali Enterprise strives to provide organic juices as organic dietary supplements to local communities. 
  • The enterprise is helping local markets develop through creating jobs and providing local women and youth with equitably compensated employment.
  • The enterprise is helping build a market around organic produce and products in South Africa.

The INVOTECT business incubator supported Eyomdali Enterprise through its launch and early stages. 

 

Ethekwini Business Support Unit helps secure marketing exposure for the enterprise by facilitating its participation in trade fairs and exhibitions. 

The Durban Chamber of Commerce awarded the enterprise with free membership after an exceptional display at the Durban Business Fair 2018. 

Fast Growers is partnering with Eyomdali Enterprise to scale up operations.
