Carenation Online is on a mission to redesign the entire Thai funeral journey by offering paper and digital wreaths and other digital funeral services such as Online Checklists, Smart Invitation Cards and an Online Memorial.

They have a growing network of 21-partner foundations involved in design, research and product development, and work also with local communities. Their target consumers are medium-high income people in Bangkok.

Eco-Inclusive Impacts
  • Helping foundations that target poverty reduction through donations received through the platform
  • Outsourcing parts of its production process to local communities to create employment and generate revenue
  • Offering jobs that are particularly well-suited to women as a second stream of income
  • Switching 5% of guests to paper wreaths would reduce 400,000 plastic water bags and Styrofoam. Carenation currently replaces 30 flower wreaths per day with paper wreaths or 10,950 wreaths per year
  • Their digital wreaths generating even less waste
  •  Raising a total of 8 million Baht over the past 2 years for their 21 partner foundations
  • Providing about 600,000 Baht in revenue for local communities each year

Partners

Carenation makes paper wreaths that reduce environmental waste, raise donations for foundations, and generate income for impoverished local communities. Carenation has successfully turned the funeral industry into a fundraising machine for charities and now it is expanding into digital funeral services.

Taejai is one of the charities that receives donations from Carenation. They collaborate on fundraising projects including the Chula Hospital COVID testing kit.

Carenation sends its tech team, PR and designers to help the Chulalongkorn Hospital’s cancer researchers at no cost. They help them re-make their website and develop a new donation process.
