Jobs Redesigned: Exploring Circular Economy Solutions in the Private Sector

The Circular Economy Catalyst and SEED, hosted by adelphi, are organising a side event as part of the World Resources Forum 2023. The side event will showcase successful circular business models from small- and medium-sized enterprises, and spotlight how they are contributing to the transition to an inclusive and circular economy, creating future jobs. Four entrepreneurs, awardees from the Green Entrepreneurship Awards 2023 from Bare Necessities Zero Waste Solutions, Green Nettle Textiles, VAWOCO Organisation, and MiniMines Cleantech Solutions will present their circular business models, and hhow they are tackling environmental and economic challenges in India and Kenya. This will set the basis for a discussion on possible replications of these solutions in other contexts during a panel discussion.

- Opening remarks from IKEA Foundation and International Labour Organisation
- Green Entrepreneurship Awards in collaboration with SEED
- Keynote presentations by four SMEs, winners from the Circular Economy Awards from India and Kenya (Theme: Job Creation in the Circular Economy)
- Panel Discussion on Replication of business models. The four entrepreneurs and two jury members, experts in the field of Circular Economy Business Support, together with a speaker from ILO, will answer questions by the moderator, to further explore replication opportunities in the circular economy and the creation of future jobs
- Closing remarks
