SEED Hosts Sankalp Global Summit 2020 Workshop: A Green Recovery: Building Resilience for Eco-Inclusive MSMEs after COVID-19
On 3 November 2020, SEED’s Head of Communications Linde Wolters moderated a workshop at the Sankalp Global Summit on A Green Recovery: Building Resilience for Eco-Inclusive MSMEs after COVID-19. Max Bulakovskiy, a Policy Analyst in the Social Economy and Innovation Unit at the OECD, joined as a Key Expert from Barcelona to cover how enterprises can play a repair & transform role following the crisis. Fadzai Munyuki, Co-Founder and Managing Director of SEED enterprise Kudiwa Waste and Energy Solutions (KWES) in Zimbabwe, also spoke about the importance of looking after your team and how operating in a volatile economy prepared her well for COVID. Mathew John, Managing Director of Last Forest and Co-Founder of the Keystone Foundation from India, then spoke about the importance of focusing on your core business & contingency planning. Together, the panelists discussed what resilience means and how enterprises can become more resilient to future shocks, as well as how policymakers and intermediaries can support them. Participants explored SEED’s Resilience Tool and learned from SEED enterprises about survival strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
