Driving Green Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Sustainable Development in Morocco
Casablanca, June 12, 2023 – Following the official launch of its new project in Morocco, SEED, the global partnership for sustainable development and green economy, is furthering its collaboration with the Government of Flanders to bolster the growth of sustainable businesses in the country. The project, "Promoting Green Entrepreneurship: Enhancing Innovation and Job Creation for a More Sustainable and Inclusive Economy in Morocco," marks SEED's return to Morocco and seeks to stimulate innovation and job opportunities within a sustainable and inclusive economic framework.
As part of this new project, early-stage eco-inclusive entrepreneurs and startups are invited to submit applications for the SEED Replicator Programme in Morocco; it presents a valuable opportunity for passionate and visionary entrepreneurs to collaborate with accomplished enterprises that have effectively implemented eco-inclusive business models in different regions. With a focus on providing tailored support and engaging workshops, the programme aims to empower participants in nurturing and advancing high-impact, sustainable ventures, and eventually unlock their full potential to drive meaningful change in Morocco's entrepreneurial landscape.
Selected entrepreneurs will benefit from a comprehensive incubation experience that spans over 2.5 days of interactive workshops. They will have access to expert guidance, personalised support, and networking opportunities with organisations that share similar goals and values.
The workshops will take place in three Moroccan cities: Casablanca, Oujda, and Agadir, from July 28th to 30th. The targeted sectors for this initiative include circular economy, agricultural innovation, technology solutions for households, waste management, as well as water and hygiene access. Interested entrepreneurs are invited to submit their applications by filling out the form available at https://seeds.uno/MarocReplicator before the deadline of July 5th, 2023.
This initiative builds on a successful collaboration between the Government of Flanders and SEED, who have already worked together on similar projects in Botswana, Malawi and Zambia. The aim of this new project is to unleash Morocco's entrepreneurial potential, learning from relevant experiences and success stories, and adopting a regional approach to stimulate the creation of green and inclusive jobs.
“Launching the Replicator Programme in Morocco marks an exciting milestone for SEED. By pairing early-stage entrepreneurs with established eco-inclusive business models, we aim to foster a thriving ecosystem of green entrepreneurship and innovation in the country,” said Arab Hoballah, Executive Director of SEED. "By joining forces, we can drive positive change and contribute to building a more inclusive and sustainable economy.”
