Adam Camenzuli, CEO of 2013 SEED Winner KARIBU Solar Power, is featured in an article about the great potential of Solar Power in Africa in this month's Forbes Africa

KARIBU Solar Power aims to launch a new modular solar lamp via a franchising network. Users pay in small increments, which replicate the required cashflow for kerosene. In this way KARIBU makes high-quality solar lighting and mobile phone charging affordable for low-income communities.

In the article, Camenzuli elaborates on KARIBU Solar Power's business model and their distribution model of using small shops - called Dukas in Tanzania - to sell the devices and offer battery exchange and recharging services.

We realized that bringing in Solar lamps was not a viable business in long-term - we had to do something different.
